Sylvan Mysteries Of The Elven Enclaves

Sylvan Mysteries of the Elven Enclaves
The Elves of Aethervale, particularly those of Wyn_Dor and Lemmion, are often seen as aloof isolationists. In reality, they are the "Gardeners of the Aetheric-Graft," working tirelessly to keep the world's natural magic from being completely consumed by industry and necromancy.
Rumor 2: The Matriarch Construct
Rumor: Matriarch Sylas of Lemmion hasn't aged a day in 500 years because she's actually a construct. The Truth: Sylas is a "Sylvan Soul-Vessel." During the Age of Ruin, her physical body was destroyed by the Whispering Lich’s plague. To save her soul, the Green Dragon Xylira (see Truth 14) performed a "Graft-Ritual," transferring Sylas’s consciousness into a living wood effigy grown from the Heart of the World-Tree. She is not a "construct" of metal and gears, but a sentient piece of the forest itself. Her "aging" is tied to the health of the World-Tree; if the tree dies, so does she.
Rumor 11: The Dragon Map
Rumor: The Elves of Wyn_Dor have a map that shows the location of every dragon’s lair in Aethervale. The Truth: The map is known as the "Resonance-Chart." It doesn't track the dragons themselves, but the "Aetheric-Disturbances" they cause. Since every First Brood dragon is a living Aether-Node (see Truth 21), their presence "pulses" in a way the elves can detect through the World-Tree’s roots. The map is used not to hunt dragons, but to coordinate the "Aetheric-Balancing" efforts across the continent.
Rumor 44: The Treant Army
Rumor: The "Elven Enclaves" are hiding a secret army of treants ready to march on Steamfort. The Truth: The "Army" is a "Planetary Deforestation Contingency." The elves have "awakened" thousands of ancient oaks near the borders of the Northern Territories. These treants are not meant to invade Steamfort, but to act as a "Living Wall" if the Syndicate’s logging operations ever threaten the "Core Forest." However, the Whispering Lich has begun to "corrupt" some of these treants, turning them into "Blight-Walkers" (see Truth 24).
Rumor 59: Aether-Crystals on Trees
Rumor: The "Elves" have found a way to grow Aether-crystals on trees. The Truth: This is the "Aether-Orchard" project. By "grafting" small fragments of Aether-crystals onto the branches of Mana-Saturated trees, the elves can "grow" a sustainable source of magical energy. These "Bio-Crystals" are less potent than the ones mined from the earth, but they don't harm the planet. The Grand Arcane Bank is desperately trying to steal this technology to maintain their monopoly on energy (see Truth 31).
Rumor 89: The Great Ward
Rumor: The "Elves" are building a "Great Ward" that will cut off the Eastern Continent from the rest of the world. The Truth: The "Ward" is a "Sanctuary-Shield." The elves have realized that the Aether-Currents of the Eastern Continent are becoming too corrupted by the Bank’s "Wealth-Transference" rituals (see Truth 45). They intend to create a "Magical-Firewall" to prevent the corruption from spreading to the Western and Southern continents, effectively quarantining the East until the Bank and the High Council are removed from power.
Rumor 91: The Prophecy of the Child
Rumor: There is a "Prophecy" that a child of a dwarf and an elf will end the Cold War. The Truth: The "Child" is not a person, but a "Hybrid-Engine." The prophecy refers to the "Sylvan-Steam Core," a device that combines Elven "Bio-Aether" with Dwarven "Mechanical-Logic." It was designed by a secret collaborative group called the "Bridge-Builders." They believe that this engine is the only way to power the world without destroying it, but both the Syndicate and the Bank have declared its development a "Heresy."
