Forge-Lord Torvin Ironbeard

Title: High Chairman of the Ironbeard Syndicate
Role: Torvin is the face of Steamfort. A dwarf of massive girth and a beard braided with silver wires, he oversees the council of Forge-Lords that governs the city. He is a pragmatic leader who believes that only through industrial might can the "lesser races" survive in a world of magic and dragons. He is often seen puffing on a mechanical pipe that vents blue Aether-smoke.

Secret Motivation: Torvin is being blackmailed by the Obsidian Scale. They have proof that his "unbreakable" Aether-steel is actually manufactured using a process that requires dragon blood, which he has been secretly importing from the Lifeless Swells. If this were revealed, it would destroy the Syndicate’s reputation and likely trigger a war with the Elven Enclaves. He is desperately trying to find a synthetic alternative before the cult’s demands become too high.

Adventure Hook: Torvin hires the party to "intercept and destroy" a shipment of "prohibited materials" coming from the North. In reality, he wants them to destroy the evidence of his dragon-blood imports before his rivals in the Syndicate can find it.
