He believes that by controlling the flow of gold, he can prevent the "Lesser Races" from accumulating enough wealth to fund a second Age of Ruin. He operates through the Grand Arcane Bank as the "Honorary Advisor of Economic Stability," ensuring that every tax law includes a "Draconic Siphon" that funnels a portion of all global wealth into a hidden communal hoard intended to fund the world's defense.

Rumor 14: Tea with Xylira

Rumor: The Green Dragon Xylira has been seen drinking tea with the Matriarch of Lemmion. The Truth: Xylira and Matriarch Sylas are actually sisters in all but blood. During the Age of Ruin, Sylas saved Xylira’s clutch of eggs from the Whispering Lich. In return, Xylira has acted as the secret protector of Lemmion for centuries. Their "tea parties" are actually high-level strategy sessions where they coordinate the defense of the Western Continent against both the Bank and the Syndicate.

Rumor 15: Ignis-Kaan's Volcanic Activity

Rumor: Ignis-Kaan, the Red Dragon, is responsible for the recent volcanic activity in the North-East. The Truth: Ignis-Kaan is not causing the eruptions out of malice. He is "venting" the pressure of the Aether-Currents that have become dangerously congested beneath the Northern Continent. If he didn't trigger these controlled eruptions, the entire tectonic plate would shatter. He is acting as a "Planetary Pressure Valve," though the destruction of several mining outposts is a side effect he considers a "necessary sacrifice."

Rumor: Aether-crystals are actually the crystallized blood of the First Brood. The Truth: This is literally true. During the "First Slaying" in the Age of Myth, the blood of the progenitor dragons seeped into the earth. It didn't just crystallize; it bonded with the planet's core. The Truth: The Heart is the egg of the "Aether-Progenitor," the dragon intended to succeed the current First Brood and lead the world into the next Age. The Elves of Wyn_Dor (see Truth 44) are desperately trying to delay the hatching until the Wastes are cleansed.

The Truth: To avoid the "Dragon-Hunting Decrees" of the early 500s AW, many of the younger First Brood took the form of common beasts. The stray cat in the Kigum Academy is actually a Copper Dragon named Pip; the ancient tortoise in the Steamfort zoo is a Silver Dragon named Valerius. They act as observers, reporting back to Aurelius on the state of the mortal realms.

Rumor 40: The Rejected Dragon

Rumor: The "Obsidian Scale" cult is led by a dragon that was rejected by the First Brood. The Truth: The leader is Vorithrax, a Black Dragon who was cast out for attempting to weaponize the Mana Wastes. He is not "rejected" in the sense of being weak; he was exiled for being too ambitious. He founded the Obsidian Scale (see Truth 6) to gather the "shattered scales" of his kin and use them to forge a "Crown of Tyranny" that would allow him to command the entire First Brood.

Rumor 55: The Tavern Owner Silver Dragon

He is training them to be his personal army for the "Great Reclaiming" (see Truth 70).

Rumor 70: The Great Reclaiming

Rumor: The "First Brood" dragons are planning a "Great Reclaiming" in the year 600 AW. The Truth: This is the contingency plan if the Cold War between Kigum and Steamfort leads to a second Age of Ruin. The First Brood will emerge from their hidden lairs, dismantle all Aether-Engines, and establish a "Draconic Hegemony." They believe that mortals have proven they cannot handle the power of Aether, and it is time for the "Elders" to take the reins once more.

Rumor 74: The Elven Matriarch is Xylira

Rumor: The "Elven Matriarch" is actually the Green Dragon Xylira in human form. The Truth: Matriarch Sylas and Xylira often switch places using "Shared-Consciousness Jewelry." When Sylas needs to be in two places at once, Xylira takes her form and vice versa. Most of the Matriarch's "unnatural wisdom" regarding forest management and draconic lore comes from the fact that it is actually a dragon sitting on the throne.

Rumor: The "First Brood" were originally from another world entirely. The Truth: The First Brood arrived in Aethervale during the "Star-Fall" epoch. They were refugees from a world consumed by the "Void-Gaze." They didn't just "arrive"; they brought the first seeds of Aether with them, planting them in the earth to create the Aether-Nodes. Aethervale as we know it is a "Garden" they cultivated to escape their dying home.
