Barnaby

Location: Kigum, Eastern Continent Occupation: Innkeeper of The Copper Dragon Inn Faction: Independent / Retired Adventurer

Barnaby is a gruff, retired human fighter who famously lost his right leg during the Battle of the Boiling Coast. The injury was sustained during a desperate rearguard action against Jarl Throm-Ka's personal war-mammoth, a memory that still haunts his dreams. He replaced the limb with a heavy, unadorned iron peg that thumps loudly against the floorboards of his inn.

He is the proprietor of The Copper Dragon Inn, a famous establishment in the lower districts of Kigum known for its strict "no magic duels inside" policy—a rule enforced by two imposing iron golems Barnaby purchased from a Steamfort merchant specifically to counter any potential Giantfolk "scavengers" or aggressive battle-mages.

Barnaby is a vast repository of local rumors, cautionary tales, and mercenary contacts. He is highly protective of his regulars and has a deep distrust of high-level mages, stemming from his time serving in the Ironclad Vanguard alongside careless Kigum battle-mages.
