At precisely midnight on the eve of the equinox, the High Council of Mages gathers at the summit of the Grand Arcane Spire. Using a concentrated beam of Refined Aether, they ignite the "Beacon of Hope," a magical flame that can be seen for hundreds of miles. This signals the start of the festivities.

The Gold Coin Hunt

Sponsored by the Grand Arcane Bank, thousands of magically enchanted "Glimmer-Coins" are hidden throughout the city. These coins are difficult to find with the naked eye but glow softly when viewed through a Detect Magic spell. Finding a coin can lead to prizes ranging from a bag of gold to a full scholarship at the Kigum Military Academy.
