Lorekeeper Elara

Lorekeeper Elara is the head archivist of the Grand Athenaeum in Kigum, a sprawling, magically expanded library that holds the collected history of Aethervale. A distinguished scholar with silvering hair and ink-stained fingers, she possesses a nearly encyclopedic knowledge of the world's myths, ancient technology, and aetheric phenomena. She is a distant descendant of the legendary Saint Elara, a lineage that affords her immense respect among the academic elite.

Elara is deeply protective of the texts under her care, viewing them as the true wealth of the city—far more valuable than the gold horded by the Grand Arcane Bank. She often employs adventurers to seek out lost ruins or sunken wrecks in the Broad Swells to recover rare tomes before they are destroyed by the elements or plundered by scavengers.

Secret Motivation: Elara has discovered an ancient, fragmented text hinting at a catastrophic event known as the "Sighing Sickness" that wiped out a precursor civilization. She believes the same magical anomaly is beginning to form in the modern Aether currents and is desperately searching for a way to stop it before it's too late.

Adventure Hook: Elara hires the party to infiltrate a restricted auction hosted by House Silversong. They must outbid (or outmaneuver) wealthy nobles to secure a strange, luminescent tablet that Elara believes holds the key to translating an ancient warning.
