Lithovore Behemoth

Type: Monstrosity / Siege Beast Threat Level: Extreme (Legendary Creature)

The Lithovore Behemoth is a creature of ancient myth and terrifying reality, a massive, mountain-sized beast that literally "eats the earth" to fuel its immense physical and magical power. Standing over sixty feet tall, its body is composed of a dense, metallic hide reinforced with jagged rock and Aether-crystals. It roams the most remote parts of the Western Continent, leaving behind massive, glass-lined trenches where it has consumed the soil and bedrock to extract raw Aether and minerals.

In combat, a Lithovore is almost unstoppable. Its massive feet can cause localized earthquakes, and its "Aether-Siphon" ability allows it to drain the magic from nearby items and spellcasters to power its own devastating attacks. It can fire beams of concentrated, high-pressure magma from its mouth and has a roar that can shatter stone for miles. Defeating a Lithovore is not just a battle; it is a strategic operation, usually requiring the use of heavy Steamfort siege engines and multiple Kigum battle-mage units to even pierce its hide.

Plot Hooks:

  • The Behemoth's Path: A Lithovore Behemoth is on a direct collision course with Fortune's Lake Town. The party must find a way to divert the beast or disable it before it consumes the entire settlement.
  • The Behemoth's Hoard: It is rumored that the stomach of a Lithovore contains a hoard of perfectly refined minerals and ancient, indestructible artifacts it has swallowed over the centuries. A group of "Scavenger Guilds" hires the party to "mine" the beast.
  • The Controlled Behemoth: The Obsidian Scale is attempting to use a massive "Aether-Collar" to take control of a Lithovore and use it as a living siege engine against Steamfort. The party must destroy the collar and the cultists before the beast is unleashed.
