High above the timberline, where the air grows thin and the cold becomes a physical weight, lie the Frozen Wastes of Kael. This vast, high-altitude glacier is a realm of eternal winter, swept by perpetual blizzards and illuminated only by the faint, auroral glow of the northern sky.

The Environment

The landscape is a treacherous expanse of deep crevasses, towering ice seracs, and windswept plains of compacted snow. Temperatures here regularly drop to levels that can freeze a human solid within minutes. The wind howls constantly, carrying razor-sharp ice crystals that scour everything in their path.

The Hunters of Kael

The Wastes are the ancestral hunting grounds of the Frost Giant tribes, most notably the Frost-Mantle Clan. These giants, hardened by the brutal environment, stalk the glacier in search of the ancient ice-wyrms that burrow beneath the ice. The hunts are perilous, testing the giants' strength and cunning against some of the most fearsome predators in Aethervale.

Secrets in the Ice

Beneath the shifting ice, ruins of older, forgotten eras are said to be entombed. The frost giants occasionally uncover artifacts of immense power or the frozen carcasses of monstrosities from the dawn of time, preserving them as trophies or tools in their ongoing struggle for dominance in the harsh north.
