Mount Ignis

Mount Ignis
Type: Volcano / Landmark Location: The Lifeless Swells (North-East Continent)
Mount Ignis is the largest and most active volcano in Aethervale, a towering peak of black obsidian and glowing magma that dominates the landscape of the Lifeless Swells. It is the spiritual and literal heart of the Giantfolk territories, a place of immense elemental power and ancient, draconic presence. The volcano is in a state of constant, low-level eruption, its slopes covered in rivers of lava and its peak perpetually shrouded in a thick, sulfurous ash-cloud.
Deep within the caldera of Mount Ignis lies the slumbering place of Ignis-Kaan the Cinder King. The heat and pressure within the mountain are so intense that they have crystallized the surrounding stone into unique, fire-infused "Cinder-Crystals," which the Giantfolk use to power their primitive but destructive elemental magic. The mountain is honeycombed with vast, heat-resistant tunnels and chambers, many of which are used as war-camps and forges by Jarl Throm-Ka's armies. It is a place where only the strongest—or the most magically protected—can survive.

- The Giant King's Summons: Jarl Throm-Ka summons the party to the base of the mountain to "witness the power of the Cinder King." This is a trap, intended to sacrifice the party to fuel a new volcanic ritual.
