Pops

Title: The Oldest Scavenger
Role: Pops is a human who has lived in Fortune's Lake since its founding. He is a fountain of knowledge about the town’s history and the various "ghost-stories" of the Wastes. He spends his days sitting on a pier, fishing in the lake and telling stories to anyone who will listen.

Secret Motivation: Pops is a retired "Dragon-Slayer" from the Southern Mountains. He has a "Dragon-Scale Shield" hidden beneath his floorboards and a "Slaying-Sword" disguised as a fishing rod. He has noticed the "signs of the awakening" and is preparing for one last fight. He is looking for a group of "worthy successors" to take over his mantle.

Adventure Hook: Pops’s "fishing rod" is stolen by a group of "Lake-Rats." He asks the party to help him recover it, telling them it's a "family heirloom" but secretly wanting to test their worthiness.
