Lookout Bree

Lookout Bree is a young and exceptionally talented observer for the Acorn Guard, primarily stationed at The Gull-Watch Towers. Born with eyesight that is sharp even by Muridae standards, Bree was recruited into the Guard at a young age and has spent almost her entire career in the highest and most exposed branches of the forest. She is a quiet and observant Briar-Kin who prefers the solitude of the watch towers to the crowded halls of Ardor.

Bree’s understanding of the forest’s thermal currents and gull-migration patterns is unparalleled for her age. She is a master of the Signal-Whistle and the "Light-Code"—a system of shuttered lanterns used to communicate between the watch towers and the city. She is highly respected by Warden-Commander Krog, who often relies on Bree’s reports to coordinate the city’s aerial defenses.

While she is dedicated to her duty, Bree is also a dreamer. She often spends her off-duty hours sketching the strange ships she sees through her spyglass, wondering about the world beyond the eternal mist.

Secret Motivation: Bree has secretly spotted a "Mechanical Bird"—a large, clockwork construct—that periodically enters the forest from the high-aether and then vanishes. She believes the bird is a spy from Steamfort and is trying to gather enough evidence to convince Grand Warden Hekka to launch a full-scale investigation.

Adventure Hook: Bree has spotted a distress signal coming from a small island just outside the forest’s magical barrier. She can't leave her post without authorization, so she secretly hires the party to investigate the signal and report back to her.
