Pirates Jubilee Crystal Cove

The Pirate's Jubilee (Crystal Cove)
Date: The "Luck-Week" (Variable, usually following a major haul) Location: Crystal Cove, The Crystal Archipelago
Overview
The Pirate's Jubilee is a chaotic, week-long explosion of lawlessness and revelry in the heart of Crystal Cove. It is the one time of year (or whenever the Council of Nine Pieces feels wealthy enough) that the pirate lords declare a "Truce of the Tide," allowing all outlaws, smugglers, and even rogue mages to drink and trade without fear of a blade in the back.
Traditions and Events
The Captain’s Race
The Jubilee begins with a high-stakes race through the treacherous "Razor-Reefs" surrounding the Cove. Any captain can enter, and the rules are simple: the first ship to return with the "Jubilee Flag" wins. Sabotage, magical interference, and broadside volleys are all encouraged.
Aether-Flare Competitions
Pirate crews compete to see who can launch the most spectacular—and dangerous—Aether-flares into the night sky. These flares are often stolen from Kigum naval ships and modified with volatile raw crystals from Steamfort, resulting in unpredictable and blindingly colorful explosions.
The Pardon of the Deep
In a mockery of the legal systems of the mainland, the Council of Nine Pieces holds "The Pardon of the Deep." Prisoners and petty criminals are put on "trial" in a rowdy tavern. The punishment or pardon is decided by the volume of the crowd’s cheers or boos. Most "sentences" involve buying a round of drinks for the entire tavern.
Daily Life During the Jubilee
Crystal Cove becomes a city that never sleeps. The docks are packed with ships from across the Boundary Ocean, and the black market for Aether-crystals reaches a fever pitch. Tavern brawls are constant but rarely lethal, as the "Truce of the Tide" is strictly enforced by the Council’s "Regulators."
The Shadow of the Deep
Despite the revelry, a sense of unease lingers. The increasing sightings of the Abyssal Fleet have led to many captains spending their Jubilee gold on extra cannons and anti-undead charms. Some say the Jubilee is a way for the Pirate Lords to keep morale up while they secretly prepare for a war they cannot win.
