Legendary Heists

Legendary Heists of the Grand Arcane Bank
Despite its fearsome reputation, the Grand Arcane Bank has been the target of countless heist attempts. Most end in tragedy, but a few have passed into legend for their audacity or sheer madness.
1. The Ghost-Walk of Malakor (389 AW)
Malakor the Unseen attempted to bypass all physical security by turning himself into a sentient radio frequency. He "broadcast" himself into the bank's communication crystals.
- Outcome: He successfully reached the internal systems but was trapped when the Bank's "Frequency Scramblers" were activated. He remains a "ghost in the machine," occasionally manifesting as a glitch in the bank's automated ledgers.
2. The Great Tunnelling of the Deep-Dwarves (402 AW)
A consortium of disgruntled dwarven miners from Dal_Dur spent twenty years digging a tunnel from three miles away, hoping to enter through the bank's floor.
- Outcome: They breached the outer shell only to find that Tier 7 is suspended in a sea of pressurized liquid nitrogen. The tunnel acted as a vacuum, and the entire mining crew was instantly flash-frozen. Their frozen bodies are now kept on display in the bank's lobby as a "preventative exhibit."
3. The Trojan Dragon (415 AW)
A group of master shapeshifters attempted to polymorph themselves into a hoard of gold and "deposit" themselves into the bank. They spent weeks as coins, slowly moving through the sorting machines.
- Outcome: They were caught by the "Purity Scales," which detect the "spiritual weight" of an object. Real gold has no soul; the shapeshifters did. They were "withdrawn" from reality shortly thereafter.
4. The Time-Heist of Sila (Failed)
Sila, a rogue chronomancer, attempted to steal the Loom of Fate by stopping time for the entire city of Kigum.
- Outcome: The Bank's internal "Temporal Anchor" remained active. While the rest of the world stood still, the Bank's guards were free to move. Sila was captured before she even reached the front doors. She is currently serving a sentence of 500 years, being served one second at a time over the course of eternity.
