Scribe Malakor

Title: Keeper of the Infinite Ledger
Role: Malakor is an elderly gnome who has worked in the Bank for over a hundred years. He is responsible for recording the most sensitive transactions—the ones that never appear on the public books. He is a walking encyclopedia of Kigum’s financial history, but he is notoriously tight-lipped and eccentric.

Secret Motivation: Malakor has been "skimming" tiny amounts of magic from the Bank’s enchanted ledgers for decades. He is using this stolen energy to power a "Memory Engine," a device that can project his memories into the minds of others. He plans to use it to "broadcast" the Bank’s darkest secrets to the entire city on the day of his retirement, as a final act of revenge for a life spent in service to greed.

Adventure Hook: Malakor’s Memory Engine requires a very specific type of "Aether-Quartz" found only in the deepest parts of the Spire’s sewers. He hires the party to fetch it, promising them "the truth about everything" once his machine is complete.
