The Iron Will Dreadnought

The Iron Will Dreadnought

The Iron Will

Type: Aether-Dreadnought (Flagship) Origin: Steamfort Sky-Docks (House Ironheart)

The Iron Will is the pride of Steamfort and the pinnacle of mechanized aerial warfare. A colossal, ironclad dreadnought measuring over three hundred feet in length, it is powered by a massive, experimental "Void-Core" engine that allows it to stay airborne for months at a time. It is bristling with heavy weaponry, including Aether-cannons, steam-powered ballistae, and a specialized "Hull-Breaker" ram for aerial boarding actions. It serves as the flagship for Admiral Gunnar Ironheart and a mobile command center for Steamfort's northern operations.

Despite its immense power, The Iron Will is a ship of constant maintenance and immense resource consumption. Its Void-Core engine is highly temperamental and requires a constant supply of high-grade Aether-crystals to remain stable. The ship's interior is a maze of steam-pipes, gear-rooms, and cramped crew quarters, all echoing with the constant roar of its turbines. To the people of Steamfort, it is a symbol of their industrial might and their defiance of the natural world; to Kigum, it is a crude and terrifying threat to the global balance.

Plot Hooks

  • The Boarding Action: The party must infiltrate The Iron Will while it is docked in a remote mountain outpost to recover a stolen Kigum artifact. They must navigate the ship's security systems and avoid Admiral Ironheart himself.
  • The Engine Crisis: The Iron Will is suffering from a catastrophic engine failure over the Mana Wastes. The party is hired to deliver a critical replacement part and help the crew stabilize the core before the ship crashes.
  • The Dreadnought's Defection: A rogue captain attempts to seize control of The Iron Will and use its power to establish their own independent kingdom in the Broad Swells. The party must lead a counter-boarding action to retake the ship.
