Refined Aether Crystals

Refined Aether-Crystals
Type: Resource / Currency Origin: Kigum (Grand Arcane Bank)
Refined Aether-Crystals are the stable, clean, and highly regulated form of magical energy used by the mages and nobility of Kigum. Created through a complex process of alchemical purification and arcane stabilization, these crystals are clear, perfectly faceted, and pulse with a steady, blue light. They are the primary fuel for enchantments, protective wards, and the high-level magical devices used in the High Spire and the Academy District.
The production and distribution of refined crystals are strictly controlled by the Grand Arcane Bank, which uses them as a form of "Arcane Currency." Every citizen of Kigum is allotted a specific amount of refined Aether per month, and exceeding this limit results in heavy fines or the loss of magical privileges. Because they are stable and predictable, they are the preferred choice for battle-mages and researchers who cannot risk the volatility of raw crystals. A large hoard of refined Aether-crystals is a sign of immense wealth and political influence.
