Silas 'Half-Coin' Ren

Silas 'Half-Coin' Ren
Silas Ren is the Quartermaster of the Crimson Company, responsible for the logistical nightmare of keeping a global mercenary band armed, fed, and paid. He earned his nickname "Half-Coin" because of his legendary frugality; he is said to be able to squeeze two gold pieces' worth of value out of a single silver. Silas is a man of ledgers and contracts, possessing a dry wit and a total lack of patience for "heroic nonsense."
He operates out of a mobile command center—a heavily armored steam-wagon that follows the company's main deployments. Silas is the man who negotiates the contracts, manages the supply lines, and ensures that the Company's reputation for reliability remains untarnished.
Secret Motivation: Silas is secretly a high-level mole for the Grand Arcane Bank. He provides the Bank with detailed reports on the Crimson Company's movements, strengths, and financial health, ensuring the Bank can manipulate the mercenary market to its advantage.
Adventure Hook: Silas approaches the party with a "discreet recruitment offer." The Crimson Company has a surplus of "unaccounted-for" equipment that Silas needs to move quickly. He offers the party a steep discount if they can provide "escort services" for a caravan of these goods through the dangerous Mana Wastes.
