Sector 7-G

Sector 7-G
Overview & Aesthetic
Sector 7-G, also known as "The Rupture Zone," is the most dangerous location in the Kigum Undercity. It is the site of a catastrophic Aether-Pipe failure that has never been properly repaired. The architecture is a twisted mess of warped metal, fused stone, and crystalline growths. The air is so saturated with raw magic that it glows with a constant, shifting violet light, and gravity here is inconsistent, with some objects floating while others are crushed into the floor.
History & Lore
Decades ago, a primary Aether-Conduit in this sector suffered a critical pressure failure. The resulting explosion vaporized three city blocks and created a permanent rift in the fabric of magic. The Arcane Ascendancy declared the sector a "Lost Zone" and built heavy containment walls around it. However, the Void Gazers and other radical groups often sneak into the sector to harness the raw, chaotic energy for their rituals.
Points of Interest
- The Core Rupture: A 50-foot wide hole in the main conduit where unrefined Aether pours out like a waterfall of light.
- The Glass Forest: A park that was instantly vitrified by the explosion; the trees are now jagged statues of violet glass.
- The Zero-G Courtyard: A plaza where gravity has completely failed, filled with floating debris and "Aether-Wisps."
- The Containment Gate: The only official entrance to the sector, a massive door of lead-lined steel guarded by automated turrets.
Local Factions & NPCs
- The Void-Speaker: The fanatical leader of the Void Gazers who uses the sector as his primary sanctum.
- The Mutated Foreman: A former engineer who was fused with his machinery during the rupture and now mindlessly "guards" the pipes.
- Aether-Phantoms: Residual echoes of the people who died in the explosion, now hostile entities made of pure magic.
Environmental Hazards / Mechanics
- Wild Magic Zone: Any spell cast in Sector 7-G has a 50% chance of triggering a Wild Magic Surge.
- Fluctuating Gravity: At the start of each round of combat, roll a d6. 1: Heavy Gravity (speed halved), 2-5: Normal, 6: Zero-G (flying speed equal to walking speed).
- Arcane Radiation: Characters take 1d4 force damage every minute they remain in the sector without specialized shielding.
