Adamantine Sentinels

Adamantine Sentinels
Type: Construct / Guardian Origin: Steamfort (House Stonefist) / Kigum (Grand Arcane Bank)
Adamantine Sentinels are massive, high-security constructs designed for the sole purpose of guarding the most valuable assets in Aethervale. Standing twelve feet tall and encased in thick plates of reinforced adamantine, they are nearly immune to all forms of physical damage and are highly resistant to magic. They are often used as the "Last Line of Defense" in the vaults of the Grand Arcane Bank and the primary bunkers of the Steamfort Syndicate.
Each sentinel is powered by a high-grade Aether-core and is programmed with a series of complex, unbreakable "Orders." Unlike standard golems, Adamantine Sentinels possess a rudimentary tactical intelligence, allowing them to coordinate their attacks and adapt to an opponent's maneuvers. They are bristling with integrated weaponry, including heavy slamming fists, chest-mounted Aether-beams, and localized anti-magic fields. A single sentinel is a match for an entire squad of elite soldiers, and they are feared by even the most experienced master thieves.
Plot Hooks:
- The Sentinel's Logic: A sentinel guarding a noble's estate has interpreted its orders in a way that is preventing anyone—including the noble—from entering or leaving. The party must find a way to "re-order" the construct without destroying it.
- The Rogue Sentinel: An Adamantine Sentinel has been stolen by the Obsidian Scale and is being used to guard a hidden ritual site. The party must find its structural weakness and disable it.
- The Sentinel Challenge: House Stonefist offers a massive reward to any group of adventurers who can survive three rounds of combat with one of their newest sentinel prototypes.
