Kurtulmak the World-Shaper

Kurtulmak the World-Shaper

Kurtulmak the World-Shaper

Kurtulmak is the ancient and often misunderstood patron deity of the kobold race. In the theology of the Sub-Terran Accord, he is not the vengeful, trapped god of traditional myth, but "The World-Shaper"—the master architect who first carved the blueprints of the planet's interior. He represents endurance, meticulous planning, and the triumph of ingenuity over brute force.

Domains: Arcana, Forge, Knowledge.

Dogma: The followers of Kurtulmak believe that the surface world is a temporary and unstable realm, prone to the whims of the elements and the arrogance of the "Sun-Touched" races. True stability and power lie beneath the surface, in the roots of the mountains and the heat of the core. His worshippers are encouraged to build, to optimize, and to protect their hidden realms with every trap and trick at their disposal. "To measure twice is to worship; to dig deep is to ascend."

Iconography: Kurtulmak is typically depicted as a kobold of immense size, with scales made of polished obsidian and eyes that glow like molten gold. He is often shown holding a surveyor's level in one hand and a heavy, Aether-powered hammer in the other.

The Great Plan: The central tenet of Kurtulmak's faith in the modern era is "The Great Plan"—a divine blueprint that outlines the expansion of the Deep-Strands into every corner of the world. It is believed that once the network is complete, Kurtulmak will return to lead his people into a new age of subterranean dominance, where they will no longer need to hide from the surface.

Rituals: Worship of Kurtulmak often involves the dedication of new tunnel sections, the ritual "re-tuning" of Aether-conduits, and the presentation of complex architectural models in his temples.
