Barkskin.The Root-Singer's AC can't be lower than 16.

Tree Bond.While within 60 feet of the World-Tree or a similar ancient tree, the Root-Singer regains 10 hit points at the start of each of his turns.

Root Song.As a bonus action, the Root-Singer can cause roots to erupt from the ground in a 20-foot radius centered on himself. The area becomes difficult terrain for 1 minute.

Actions

Multiattack.The Root-Singer makes two slam attacks or two thorn whip attacks.

Slam.Melee Weapon Attack: +7 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 11 (2d6 + 4) bludgeoning damage.

Thorn Whip.Melee Weapon Attack: +11 to hit, reach 30 ft., one target. Hit: 21 (6d6) piercing damage, and the target is pulled up to 10 feet toward the Root-Singer.

Spiritual Surgery (1/Day).The Root-Singer touches a creature or plant. He can end one condition on it, or restore 50 hit points to it.

The Root-Singer

Title: Guardian of the Heart-Tree’s Roots
Role: The Root-Singer is an ancient elf who has become so closely bonded with the World-Tree that he has started to grow bark-like skin and branches from his head. He lives in the deepest parts of the Heart-Tree’s root system, where he "sings" to the tree to keep it healthy and strong.

Secret Motivation: The Root-Singer is the only one who can "hear" the true spirit of the World-Tree, which is currently being suppressed by the Heart. The tree is "screaming" for help, telling him that the Heart is actually a "parasite" that was planted by the dragons. He needs someone to help him "cut out" the Heart without killing the tree.

Adventure Hook: The Root-Singer leads the party to a hidden chamber beneath the Heart-Tree and shows them the Heart. He asks them to use their "foreign magic" to help him perform a "Spiritual Surgery" on the tree.
