Beetle-Horn Trumpet

The Beetle-Horn Trumpet is a standard signaling device used by the Acorn Guard and the Drift-Watch. It is made from the hollowed-out mandible of a Giant Iridescent Beetle that has died of natural causes. The horn is carved with intricate Muridae patterns and is often decorated with small, colorful feathers or aether-silk tassels.

Properties

1. Signaling-Range: When blown, the trumpet produces a deep, resonant tone that can be heard up to 2 miles away in clear conditions, and up to 1 mile through heavy mist.

2. Tactical Calls: The Guard has developed a complex system of "Horn-Calls" to signal everything from "Incoming Gull" to "Retreat to the Canopy." Characters with proficiency in a musical instrument (trumpet) or who have served in the Guard can understand these calls.

3. Sonic Blast: Once per day, you can use an action to blow a high-intensity blast. Each creature in a 10-foot cone must succeed on a DC 11 Constitution save or be Deafened for 1 round.

4. Durable: The beetle-horn is naturally resistant to damage. It has an AC of 15 and 10 hit points.
