The Glitched Archive

Location: Kigum (The Academy District) Level Range: 5-6

Background & Objective

A high-priority sector of the Academy's restricted archives has suffered a "temporal desync." The reality within the archive is looping every few minutes, trapping researchers and causing forgotten knowledge to physically manifest as dangerous entities. The party is hired by a panicked Senior Librarian to stabilize the sector and retrieve a lost volume of "Pre-Cataclysmic Chronology."

The Gimmick: Time-Sync Loops

Every 3 rounds of combat, the room "resets." Creatures return to their HP and positions from the start of those 3 rounds, but any objects moved or spells cast remain in their new state.

Tactical Combat & Challenges

• Ink-Wraiths: The party must fight spectral entities made of living ink that are immune to damage unless they are hit in the same round as a "Reset."
• Hazardous Reset: The challenge is positioning enemies so they reset into environmental hazards, such as open Aether-wells or temporal rifts that have appeared in the archive.

Narrative Outcomes & Loot

• Success: The sector is stabilized, and the librarian provides access to forbidden lore.
• Huge Throbbing Treasure: The Chronos-Quill, a rare artifact that allows the user to reroll one initiative check per day for the whole party. Plus 2,500 GP in minted Kigum Sovereigns.
