The First Brood's Claw

Background & Objective

Miners in the deepest reaches of Dal Dur have uncovered something impossible: a massive, fossilized appendage belonging to one of the First Brood dragons. The relic still radiates immense primordial power, ionizing the air and animating the surrounding rock to defend itself. The party must secure the relic before the unstable energy causes a massive cave-in.

The Gimmick: Primordial Heat

The fossilized claw radiates raw, ancient power. The air in the cavern is "Ionized"—any metal weapon or armor worn by a creature has a 50% chance to deal 1d6 lightning damage to the wearer or user at the start of each round.

Tactical Combat & Challenges

• The Brood-Guard: A terrifying Draconic Construct formed from fossilized bone and raw Aether-crystals. It possesses an "Aether-Fire" breath weapon that completely ignores fire resistance and immunity.
• Environmental Hazards: Players must manage the constant lightning damage from their own gear while fighting a high-tier boss.

Narrative Outcomes & Loot

• Success: The Brood-Guard is dismantled, and the fossilized claw is secured for study (or sale).
• Huge Throbbing Treasure: The Dragon-Bone Relic. A powerful staff crafted from the fossilized claw that allows the wielder to command lesser dragons or drakes. Accompanied by a hoard of 20,000 GP in various treasures dating back to the Age of Ruin.
