Overload Construct (1/Day).Jax causes a construct within 30 feet to explode. Each creature within 10 feet of the construct must make a DC 16 Dexterity saving throw, taking 28 (8d6) force damage on a failed save, or half as much on a successful one. The construct is destroyed.

Mechanist Jax

Title: Lead Developer of the "Steel-Souls"
Role: Jax is a gnome who is obsessed with the idea of creating a truly sentient machine. He is the creator of the "Steel-Souls," a line of Aether-mechs designed for complex tasks. He is often seen talking to his creations as if they were his children, and he is fiercely protective of them.

Secret Motivation: Jax has successfully created a sentient mech (Rusty), but he has kept it a secret from the Syndicate, who would likely dismantle it for study. He is also secretly using "Soul-Shards" from the Mana Wastes to power his creations, not realizing that these shards are the fragmented souls of dragons who died during the War of Sunder. His mechs are starting to remember their past lives.

Adventure Hook: One of Jax’s mechs has "gone rogue" and escaped into the city. He hires the party to find it and bring it back "intact," before the Iron Guard finds it and destroys it.
