Gate-Keeper Grom

Title: Warden of the Silver-Gate
Role: Grom is a massive dwarf who stands guard at the main entrance to Dal-Dur. He is the first person most visitors see, and he is a master of reading people. He is a man of few words and even fewer smiles, but he is fiercely loyal to the city and his fellow guards.

Secret Motivation: Grom is a "Dragon-Slayer" in hiding. Centuries ago, his ancestors were the ones who struck the final blow against the green dragon Xylira’s previous consort. He carries a "Dragon-Slaying Spear" disguised as a common halberd. He has noticed a "smell of ozone and sulfur" on several recent visitors (cultists) and is preparing for an attack on the gate.

Adventure Hook: Grom asks the party to help him "vet" a group of merchants who are requesting entry into the city. He suspects they are carrying "draconic contraband" and wants the party to search their wagons while he keeps them distracted.
