Every few months, the "Apprentice's Pilgrimage" takes place, where young mages are sent into the grotto to harvest the Star-Vyne. The moss is extremely sensitive to magic; if harvested with too much force or the wrong intent, its light fades, and its magical properties are lost. The harvested moss is refined into "Glimmer-Ink," a specialized substance used for scribing high-level spell scrolls and warding circles.
